JD Logistics Celebrates Top Global Ranking in Sustainability

JD Logistics, also known as Jingdong Logistics or JDL, has been awarded second place on the list of the top 10 strongest logistics brands worldwide, according to the Logistics 25 2024 report released by Brand Finance.  Brand Finance’s analysis shows a 1% increase in JD Logistics’ brand value, estimated at USD $3.5 billion. The company also upgraded its brand strength rating from AA+ to AAA, achieving an 85.2 out of 100 on the Brand Strength Index. These ratings reflect the logistics and supply chain management excellence achieved by JD Logistics.

Today JD Logistics operates a logistics network of over 1,600 warehouses and has approximately 350,000 in-house delivery personnel.  This expansive service network covers China and operates globally, with around 90 bonded direct mail and overseas warehouses in Europe, North America, Southeast Asia, Oceania, and the Middle East. This extensive network supports a diverse customer base, including notable companies like Hunkemöller, Biedronka, MW Logistics, and more. The global reach and efficiency of JD Logistics highlight the impact of its strong leadership in expanding and optimizing the company’s logistics capabilities.

In December, JD Logistics expanded its global services by introducing an international express delivery service. This service is a trusted option for a number of items, from documents to apparel to major destinations, including the United States, the United Kingdom, and Germany. This expansion aligns with the company’s vision of creating a seamless and efficient global logistics network that meets the needs of a rapidly growing e-commerce market.

The company is focused on technological innovation and has enhanced its digital capabilities within the supply chain logistics sector by integrating cutting-edge technologies such as 5G, AI, and big data. These advancements have facilitated the development of intelligent solutions, including automated warehouses and autonomous delivery vehicles, thereby fostering a digitally agile supply chain operation open for collaboration with industrial partners. JD Logistics recently announced a partnership with Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) with the aim to transform their logistics and supply chain management throughout the MENA region.  This will be achieved via cooperation in intelligent logistics and digital supply chain solutions. 

JD Logistics is also committed to sustainability and leading the way in establishing a green supply chain. JD Logistics continues to significantly reduce its environmental impact through initiatives like the “Green Stream Initiative.”   This important initiative has participation from over 300,000 enterprises and millions of consumers.  JD Logistics is deploying new energy vehicles throughout China and actively implementing battery swapping and hydrogen-powered technologies. The company has an ambitious goal of achieving 100% new energy logistics transportation by 2030.  JD Logistics has already reduced carbon emissions by approximately 69,515 tons by the end of 2023 through its “Delivered with Original Package” (DWOP) program in collaboration with suppliers and brands. These sustainability efforts reflect JD Logistics strategy for a greener and more responsible logistics network.
